Job Title: Town Planner

Location: Leeds

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading UK care home developer in their search for an experienced Town Planner to join a well-established and highly regarded in-house Planning Team.

Our client is a market leader in the delivery of purpose-built residential care homes, with over 30 years' experience and a strong reputation for innovation and quality. Operating through a vertically integrated model, the business has continued to refine and evolve its approach to development across the UK.

The Role

Based in Leeds, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning projects in-house. Responsibilities will include:

* Undertaking initial site appraisals and evaluations

* Preparing written reports, statements and supporting documentation

* Managing and submitting planning applications

* Liaising and negotiating with Planning Officers and relevant stakeholders

* Involvement in Planning Committees and Appeals where required

You will be expected to take ownership of projects from an early stage, making prior experience in either the private or public sector essential.

About You

* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a planning role

* Academically qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ambitious, self-motivated and a strong team player

* A genuine interest in the full land and planning process

* Full UK driving licence
