Year 1 Primary Teacher - The Role

* Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons
* Assessing and monitoring pupils' progress
* Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
* Working closely with colleagues and the wider school team
Year 1 Primary Teacher - Key Responsibilities
As a Year 1 Primary Teacher, you will:
* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
* Take full responsibility for teaching and learning within a Year 1 class.
* Assess, monitor and record pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
* Support pupils' transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.
* Establish clear classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet the individual needs and abilities of all pupils.
* Encourage independence, confidence and a love of learning.
* Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment and contribute to future planning.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and the wider school team.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils' progress and well-being.
Year 1 Primary Teacher - About You
The successful Year 1 Primary Teacher will have:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Previous primary teaching experience, ideally within Year 1 or Key Stage 1.
* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching practices.
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
* The ability to plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons.
* A nurturing, patient and positive approach to supporting young learners.
* Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet pupils' individual needs.
* A proactive and flexible approach to working within a school environment.
* A genuine passion for helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
