Year 2 Class Teacher - Chesham - September 2026
A friendly, forward-thinking two-form entry primary school in Chesham is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and reflective Year 2 Class Teacher to join its dedicated team on a permanent basis from September 2026.

Year 2 Class Teacher - Permanent Position
Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire
Salary: MPS/UPS
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
The successful candidate will join an established Key Stage 1 team, working alongside a parallel Year 2 teacher in a two-form entry structure. This provides excellent opportunities for joint planning, moderation, and shared responsibility for pupil outcomes, particularly in preparation for end of Key Stage 1 assessments.
The successful candidate will:
Have a secure understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment frameworks, including end of KS1 expectations
Plan and deliver creative, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils
Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and accelerate pupil progress
Demonstrate high expectations for behaviour, attainment, and presentation
Be an excellent communicator, able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Show commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and school events
The school is particularly interested in candidates who:
* Have experience teaching in Year 2 or across Key Stage 1
* Are confident in phonics delivery (e.g. Little Wandle or similar schemes)
* Have a strong understanding of early reading and writing development
* Can bring energy, creativity, and a passion for primary education
