Academics are recruiting for a well regarded 2 form entry primary school in Hemel Hempstead. The school is looking for a passionate and committed Year 2 Teacher to cover a maternity leave beginning in September 2025. With the current teacher remaining in post until October, there will be a smooth and thorough handover period to ensure continuity and a confident start for both you and the pupils.

Life as a Year 2 Teacher
As a Year 2 teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping children's early learning experiences as they complete Key Stage 1. You will help pupils develop greater independence, confidence, and mastery of key skills in literacy and numeracy while fostering curiosity and creativity across the curriculum.
Your days will be varied, fun, and rewarding, featuring:
* Delivering engaging phonics, reading, and writing lessons to strengthen core skills
* Supporting children through SATs preparation in a calm, positive way
* Nurturing social skills, emotional development, and teamwork
* Leading creative projects, science investigations, and topic work
* Using hands-on activities and practical resources to make learning memorable
* Building strong relationships with parents and carers to support home learning
* Working closely with your parallel Year 2 teacher for shared planning and ideas
