The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class during the Autumn Term, guiding pupils through an important stage of their primary education and helping prepare them for a smooth transition into the rest of the academic year.
Key responsibilities include:
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
* Supporting pupils' academic progress and emotional wellbeing
* Preparing pupils for SATs foundations and maintaining high expectations
* Using assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform planning
* Providing support and challenge for all learners, including SEND and higher-attaining pupils
* Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher, support staff, and leadership team
* Contributing positively to the wider school community
Candidate Requirements
The school is seeking a teacher who:
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Has experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
* Has a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum
* Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Is organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic about teaching
* Brings energy, commitment, and a proactive attitude to the role
* Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant KS2 placement experience are also encouraged to apply.
Salary and Contract Details
* Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover
* Duration: 1 Term (Autumn Term)
* Start Date: September 2026
* Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
